Our Impact

When we started this whole organization, we had one goal in mind: quality education for all children.

Five years into our project at Somwang School, we are realizing that the impact of what we do is so much more than just giving children a chance to go to school.

On September 25th 2015, 193 countries adopted 17 sustainable development goals (SDG's) to transform our world. They seek to end poverty, protect the planet and ensure prosperity for all as part of a new sustainable development agenda.

For the goals to be reached, everyone needs to do their part: governments, the private sector, civil society and people like us.

We are thus eager to share how the work we do is meeting as many of these goals as possible.

Education is Everything

As it turns out, while being just one of the 17 goals, a quality education is also a key factor for all other 16 goals. Here's an overview of each one of them and how we are working towards them:

Our kids get a balanced nutritious lunch everyday that is freshly prepared for them on site by one of the teachers.

Our kids receive a quality education, learning all the skills they need to succeed in their personal and professional lives.

Through receiving a quality education, our children have higher chances of getting good jobs and thus escape the poverty they were born into.

We provide our children with health care services such as routine check-ups, vaccinations and doctor visits if needed.

We almost have an equal amount of girls and boys at our school and employ two female and two male teachers.

Water tanks and a filtration system provide our children and their families with water that is save to drink.

At Somwang we do our best to create the conditions that allow people to have quality jobs that stimulate the economy without harming the environment.

Through our project, we reduce inequality by providing children access to health and education services and other assets that they wouldn't receive otherwise.

All our electricity is gained from our solar panel.

We invest in sustainable infrastructure such as solar panels, water filtration systems, and use local materials to build our school.
