![]() from left to right: Felix, Fred, Kwang Muang, LanMao. Hello everybody! Reporting from Thailand again. As mentioned in the previous post, we have been driving through the Fang-area in order to assess the need for a new school and identify potential locations. After our trip with Wilbert we were lucky enough to meet with Kwan Muang, the government official representing of the Shan people in the regional district. He is one of the Shan people himself and is extremely dedicated to improve their situation as refugees in Thailand. After a very productive meeting he agreed to help us in finding the perfect location for our new school. Knowing the area better than anybody else he will be able to identify places with high concentration of Shan-kids who - as of now - don't have access to any kind of education. We also informed him that we intend to buy a vehicle which we will use to pick up the kids in the morning and bring them home at night. Therefore we are quite flexible and can serve a maximum number of communities, which are often quite spread out across the orange plantations. Ideally the school will then be built within a distance from each community that minimizes the fuel costs. We look forward to working together with Kwan Muang in the following weeks, as he is very knowledgeable, experienced in these matters and also deeply passionate about helping his own people! Metta, Felix
